Former 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here' star David Gest will be forced to spend Christmas in hospital after taking ill last week.

The 54-year-old was admitted to a private hospital in London last Wednesday after he began to complain of chest pains and respiratory problems.

Gest will also have to postpone his first solo tour 'David Gest Is Nuts - My Life As A Musical', which was due to begin in February.

A spokesperson for Gest said: "With regret, it is announced this afternoon that on the advice of doctors David will have to postpone his tour."

"He remains in a private London hospital and is expected to stay in over the Christmas period."

"Rehearsals for the tour were due to begin in two weeks but doctors have told him that he needs to rest for the next three months."
