The online auction for the Denver Marathon Celebrity Inspiration Run kicked off Friday. Runners can bid on the chance to run a two-mile course with one of 13 celebrities.

Chris Anthony has been pounding the pavement, training for his turn in the Celebrity Inspiration run.

"Everyday I try to get out and do two to three hours of activity, primarily to get ready for the ski season," Anthony said.

Anthony is an extreme skier who takes on the slopes of the world's biggest mountains.

"This is the greatest freedom that you could enjoy other than being able to fly on your own," he said.

For the Denver Marathon, his feet are firmly on the ground. He's excited about the opportunity to give back..

"So not only are you giving back," he said. "You're doing something healthy for yourself and you're being part of the community."

Denver Marathon runners can bid online to run a two-mile stretch with Anthony or one of 12 other celebrities. Money raised from the auction will go to the celebrities' charity of choice.

"I got to choose the charity that my donations go to, which meant a lot to me because I have a little more personal touch to it," Anthony said.

Anthony will be running for Parkinson's disease research. Right now, he's running to make sure he's ready for whoever he's going to be paired with on race day.

"Hopefully it's someone that's not too fast," he laughed.

The online auction runs until Sunday, Oct. 7.
